Apple Enables Message Reactions for Android Users

Apple has updated its iOS to correctly display message reactions from Android users using RCS, aligning emoji reactions with message bubbles instead of as separate lines. This change, confirmed through tests by The Verge, marks a shift in Apple's approach to RCS, which it had previously resisted adopting despite pressure from Google, China, and the EU. The update is part of iOS 18's support for the RCS Universal Profile, although some features like message editing remain non-functional on iOS.
