A judge in Palm Beach County, Florida has ruled that a lawsuit against Tesla and its autopilot driving system can proceed to trial, stating that there is "reasonable evidence" that Tesla CEO Elon Musk and other executives were aware of the system's defects but continued to promote and sell it. The lawsuit stems from a fatal crash in 2019, where a Tesla Model 3 on autopilot collided with a semi-truck, resulting in the death of the driver. The judge noted similarities to a previous autopilot-related death in 2016. Tesla has not commented on the ruling, and no trial date has been set.
