Meta's Luna Glasses Go Camera-Free in Privacy-First Smart Wearables Push

Meta plans to ship a camera-free version of its smart glasses, dubbed Luna, as early as October, aiming to calm privacy concerns. The two styles, Clubmaster and Burbank, will use six microphones and speakers to interact with Meta AI without a camera, and include a side button to activate the AI. The device faces ongoing scrutiny over surveillance fears, though Meta has added anti-creep features and updates to discourage tampering with indicators. Unveiling is expected at the Connect developer conference on Sept. 23–24.
