BRICS Summit: Exploring the Potential of a New Currency and Global Power Shift

The BRICS summit, consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, is meeting in Johannesburg to discuss their aim of creating new economic and trade systems separate from the U.S.-led Western systems. While the group has considered creating its own currency, it is not on the agenda for this summit. More than 40 countries have expressed interest in joining BRICS, hoping to benefit from the potential economic advantages offered by the group.
