Minnesota Lawmakers Shot in Politically Motivated Attack

State Rep. Melissa Hortman and State Sen. John Hoffman, longtime Minnesota legislators, were shot and killed by a suspect posing as a police officer at their homes, with the same suspect also injuring Hoffman's wife. The suspect, identified as Vance Boelter, remains at large. Both lawmakers were members of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party and had dedicated their careers to public service and community improvement.
