31 killed in cooking gas explosion at Chinese restaurant.

A cooking gas explosion at a barbecue restaurant in Yinchuan, China, killed 31 people and injured seven others during national celebrations on the eve of a long holiday weekend. The blast occurred while an employee was replacing a broken gas tank valve. Chinese President Xi Jinping demanded urgent medical care for the injured and a safety overhaul after the explosion. Nine people have been detained by authorities, including the owner of the restaurant, shareholders and employees.
