Cheesy tragedy: Man's fatal encounter with thousands of cheese wheels

A 74-year-old Italian man, Giacomo Chiapparini, was tragically crushed to death by thousands of wheels of parmesan-style hard cheese when a shelf broke in his warehouse in the northern Lombardy region. It took firefighters around 12 hours to locate him beneath the 40kg cheese wheels. The warehouse contained 25,000 wheels of grana padano, a type of hard cheese made from unpasteurized cows' milk.
