Tragic Bus Crash Near Venice Claims 21 Lives

The driver of a bus that crashed near Venice, Italy, killing 21 people may have experienced a medical emergency before the accident. The investigation revealed that the driver, who was only a couple of hours into his shift, was driving a city-owned bus that was just a year old. Video footage showed that no other vehicles made contact with the bus before it fell off an overpass and caught fire. The nationalities of the victims were also revealed, including nine Ukrainians, four Romanians, three Germans, two Portuguese, one Croat, and one South African. Authorities are looking into whether the electric bus's battery contributed to the fire, but the cause of the crash is not related to its electric nature.
