Tragic Train Fire Claims Nine Lives in Southern India

Nine people died and 20 were injured after a fire broke out in a stationary train carriage in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. The fire was caused by a gas cylinder explosion while passengers were making tea on a stove. The carriage, detached from the train and parked separately, had over 50 passengers. Firefighters brought the blaze under control after a couple of hours. This incident follows a deadly rail crash in June that claimed over 250 lives in Orissa.
