Al Shabaab kills 54 Ugandan soldiers in Somalia.

Uganda's President Museveni announced that 54 Ugandan peacekeepers were killed in an attack by al Shabaab on a military base in Somalia. The base has since been recaptured by the Uganda People's Defence Forces. Al Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it killed 137 soldiers.
