Authorities in India's Manipur state are investigating the cause of 18-20 deaths in recent days, which may be related to ethnic clashes between tribal and non-tribal groups. The Meitei people, the largest ethnic group in the state, have been agitating for scheduled tribe status, which is opposed by other recognised tribes in Manipur.
