Evacuations of Foreign Nationals and Diplomats Expected in Sudan Amid Ongoing Violence

The Sudanese army has agreed to evacuate foreign nationals and diplomats from the UK, US, France, and China as fighting continues in the country. Army chief Fattah al-Burhan will facilitate and secure their evacuation "in the coming hours". The conflict has entered its second week, with hundreds of people killed and thousands injured. The airport in Khartoum has been closed due to the violence, with foreign embassies unable to bring their citizens home. The UN has warned that up to 20,000 people have fled Sudan to seek safety in Chad.
