Israeli police shoot and kill man near Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem

Israeli police shot and killed a Palestinian man, identified as Mohammad Khaled al-Osaibi, at an entrance to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem. The incident occurred after the man tried to prevent police from harassing a woman on her way to the holy site. Palestinian worshippers said the man was shot at least 10 times. Israeli police alleged that al-Osaibi tried to take a gun from an officer and fired it in a scuffle. The incident has raised fears of further violence in the region.
