Sderot: A Ghost Town Amidst Israel-Hamas Conflict

As southern Israel braces for an all-out assault on Gaza, residents of Sderot, a city just a mile away from the border, are evacuating and expressing a desire for revenge against Hamas. The streets of Sderot are largely empty, with nine out of ten people leaving the working-class city. Thousands have been ferried to hotels in other parts of Israel, while soldiers and armored vehicles prepare for a ground invasion. Despite the ongoing violence, some residents remain defiant, calling for the destruction of Hamas.
