Clashes and Protests Erupt in West Bank Amidst Israeli-Palestinian Tensions
TL;DR
Protests erupted in the West Bank cities of Ramallah, Nablus, Tubas, and Jenin as Palestinians expressed anger over the deadly Israeli attack on a Gaza hospital. Security forces fired tear gas and stun grenades to disperse demonstrators rallying against Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who has faced criticism for coordinating with Israel on security in the territory. The strike on Al-Ahli al-Arabi Hospital, which killed over 500 people, drew condemnation worldwide and led to protests near Israeli embassies in Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. Abbas canceled a meeting with US President Joe Biden in protest of the hospital bombardment and other attacks.
