Israeli Forces Demolish Home of Palestinian Attacker, Escalating West Bank Tensions

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) demolished the home of a Hamas terrorist, Abdel Fattah Kharousha, who killed two Israeli brothers in a shooting attack earlier this year in the West Bank town of Huwara. Clashes broke out in the Askar refugee camp near Nablus during the operation. Kharousha was killed in an Israeli raid in Jenin in March. The IDF published a video showing the demolition, and Palestinian gunmen opened fire and hurled explosives at the troops. Israel regularly demolishes the homes of Palestinians involved in terror attacks, a policy that has been debated for its efficacy and criticized as collective punishment by human rights activists.
