Ecuador's Historic Cocaine Bust: 22 Tons Seized

Ecuador's military discovered a record-breaking 22 tons of cocaine, valued at $1.1 billion, at a pig farm in the coastal province of Los Rios. The drugs were found alongside a weapons cache and were packaged in bricks labeled with airlines such as Etihad, BA, Lufthansa, and KLM. This seizure, combined with an estimated 14 tons of cocaine already seized this month, represents a significant victory in President Daniel Noboa's fight against organized crime in the country. The operation is a major blow to the operational, logistical, and financial capacity of drug trafficking worldwide, and it is believed that the cocaine was destined for markets in Asia, Europe, and North and Central America.
