Iranian Extradited from Panama to Seattle on Nine-Count Sanctions Indictment

Reza Dindar (aka Renda Dindar), a 44-year-old Iranian citizen, was extradited from Panama to the Western District of Washington to face a nine-count federal indictment alleging a scheme to violate U.S. export sanctions by disguising U.S.-origin goods and routing them to Iran via China; charges include conspiracy, two counts of export to an embargoed country, two counts of smuggling, two counts of money laundering, and two counts of filing false export records, with a potential sentence up to 20 years. The case was investigated by BIS and HSI with international cooperation from Panama and the State Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Greenberg.
