Man arrested for operating illegal mobile drug store in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside

A Canadian man has been arrested for drug trafficking after opening a mobile shop to sell cocaine, heroin, and other hard drugs in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Jerry Martin, 51, plans to challenge his arrest in court, arguing that contaminated drug supplies cause harm. Martin had planned to sell small quantities of drugs to prevent further deaths, and the drugs had been tested to ensure they did not contain fentanyl. British Columbia decriminalized the possession of small quantities of hard drugs earlier this year as part of a three-year pilot project in response to a growing number of overdose deaths from fentanyl-laced drugs in western Canada.
