Thai Man's Desperation: Online Scam Leads to Family Tragedy

A man in Thailand has been charged with premeditated murder after allegedly killing his wife and two young sons before attempting to take his own life. The man fell victim to a loan scam, which left him in significant debt. His wife had also been scammed after applying for a loan online. Thai police suspect at least 11 individuals to be involved in the scam and have obtained arrest warrants for fraud and violation of the Computer Crime Act. Thailand has seen a rise in cybercrime and scam cases, with over 200,000 online reports received in 2022 alone.
