Venezuela's Prison Takeover: From Gang-Run Paradise to Government Control

Venezuelan security forces have regained control of the Tocoron Penitentiary Center, one of the country's largest prisons, which had been under the control of the powerful criminal gang Tren de Aragua. The government conducted a successful operation, detaining 80 high-ranking gang members. Journalists were shown facilities built by inmates, including a swimming pool and restaurants. Thousands of inmates were transferred to other prisons, but relatives claim they have not heard from their loved ones since the operation.
