Russian Cybersecurity Entrepreneur Sentenced to 14 Years for Treason

Ilya Sachkov, the founder of Russian cybersecurity firm Group-IB, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for treason. Sachkov, who pleaded guilty to the charges, was accused of handing classified information to foreign intelligence. The charges were not related to the work of Group-IB, which expressed confidence in Sachkov's innocence and vowed to continue fighting against cybercrime. The trial was held behind closed doors, and state prosecutors had initially requested an 18-year prison sentence.
