Climate Activists Protest Fossil Fuel Use in Rome with Mud and Blackened Trevi Fountain

Bare-chested climate activists in Rome smeared themselves with mud outside the Senate building to protest fossil fuel use and remind people of the dangers of flooding linked to climate change. The protest was staged by an activist group called Last Generation, which has previously poured black liquid in the Trevi Fountain and glued themselves to the glass protecting the Botticelli masterpiece "Spring" in Florence. The recent severe flooding in northern Italy, which killed at least 14 people, is believed to be part of climate change phenomena caused by heavy and concentrated rainfall that can't be absorbed by parched terrain.
