Global Concerns Rise as Dam Collapse Threatens Black Sea Waters.

The collapse of the Nova Kakhovka dam in Ukraine has caused an ecological disaster, with contaminated waters flowing into the Black Sea, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. The flood waters contain sewage, oil, chemicals and possibly anthrax from animal burial sites. The Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, upstream from the dam, is at risk as the reservoir it uses to cool its reactor cores and spent fuel is rapidly draining. The International Atomic Energy Agency has said there is no immediate risk to the plant, but nuclear experts warn the safety of the plant would then be extremely fragile.
