A court in Italy has suspended an order to euthanise a brown bear known as JJ4, which killed a jogger in the Trentino-Alto Adige region in April. The bear has a history of attacking humans, but environmental groups claim she is innocent. The court has called for more evidence, including details of a plan to send JJ4 and another bear to a reserve. The animal rights group LAV welcomed the news and said it would fund the rehousing plans. JJ4's execution may be delayed further, with a hearing set for 14 December.
