Orcas Trapped in Sea Ice off Japan: Drone Footage Reveals Desperate Struggle

A pod of at least 10 orcas is trapped by thick sea ice off the coast of northern Japan, as shown in drone footage released by a local wildlife organization. The coast guard is reportedly unable to rescue the whales due to the thickness of the surrounding ice, and concerns have been raised due to a previous incident in 2005 where nine orcas died after getting stuck in drift ice in the same area.
