Spain's Drought Displaces Flamingos from Popular Lagoon.

A prolonged drought in Spain's Fuente de Piedra wetlands has caused flamingos to hatch chicks elsewhere. The wetlands were declared a natural reserve in 1984, but due to a 28% decrease in expected rainfall and high temperatures, only a few dozen adult birds could be seen in the saltwater lagoon. Climate change is believed to be the cause of the decline in flamingo population, which has previously seen over 200,000 chicks hatch at the lagoon.
