Wildfire smoke causes air quality alerts and poor conditions in Northeastern US and Canada.

An air quality alert has been issued for parts of New Hampshire due to smoky conditions caused by waves of smoke from eastern Canada. The alert covers all of Belknap, Carroll, Cheshire, Coos, Grafton, Hillsborough, Merrimack, and Sullivan counties as well as areas above 3,000 feet. Sensitive individuals, including children, older adults, and those with lung diseases, are advised to limit time outdoors, while healthy people should limit strenuous or prolonged outdoor activities. Air quality is expected to improve on Monday when winds are expected to shift and send the smoke away from New Hampshire.
