Ukrainian Troops Prepare for Counterattack.

Ukrainian troops are undergoing intensive ground assault training near the southern frontline in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, in preparation for a long-awaited counteroffensive against Russia. The troops will have to breach multiple, reinforced lines of defence and trenches, and are particularly dreading Russia’s newly laid minefields. Despite recent western arms deliveries, a Ukrainian offensive would hardly have any cover from aviation, and the troops are aware that they are fighting against an enemy with supremacy in the air, as well as quantities of tanks, artillery and heavy weapons.
