EU Parliament Takes Action Against Hungary Over Ukraine Aid and LGBTQ+ Policies

The European Parliament has adopted a resolution urging the European Commission to withhold funds from Hungary until it implements democratic reforms, following concerns over human rights and judicial independence. The resolution also condemns Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for blocking amendments to the E.U. budget that would have provided aid to Ukraine, accusing Hungary of undermining the E.U.'s founding values. While non-binding, the resolution increases pressure on the Commission and E.U. member states to take a tougher stance on releasing funds to Hungary.
