Arcturus COVID variant more infectious than Kraken strain.

A new COVID-19 variant, Arcturus, has been detected in India and may be 1.2 times more infectious than the Kraken variant. The World Health Organization is monitoring the variant, which has increased 13-fold in India in the last month. While there is no evidence that Arcturus can bypass vaccine protection, it has mutations that could make it more difficult for the immune system to fight. Some states in India have reintroduced mask mandates as daily cases continue to rise.
