A year after a devastating earthquake struck northwest Syria, Ibrahim al-Aswad reflects on the loss of his family members, including his daughter Ghazal, and the miraculous survival of his youngest son Hussein, who was found alive in the arms of his deceased grandfather after four days under the rubble. Despite his deep sadness, Ibrahim tends to his family's graves daily and finds solace in the belief that his family are martyrs. The effects of the earthquake still haunt the family, who now live in fear of aftershocks and cannot return to concrete homes.
