Escalating Settler Violence in West Bank Threatens Palestinian Communities

Violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank has been escalating, with attacks by Israeli forces and settlers pushing Palestinians out of their homes. Human rights groups and the United Nations have reported a surge in settler violence, turning the West Bank into a "Wild West." The recent Israel-Hamas war has exacerbated the situation, with armed settlers intimidating and threatening Palestinians on a daily basis. Since the October 7 attacks on Israel, there have been over 170 settler attacks resulting in casualties and property damage. Over 120 Palestinians, including 30 children, have been killed, and nearly 1,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from their homes. US President Joe Biden has condemned the violence and called for accountability.
