Roma Rise: Overcoming Obstacles and Celebrating Diversity

Despite facing discrimination and deprivation, the Roma community in Europe is standing up for themselves and proving their worth by fighting for Ukraine in the war. The Roma soldiers, advocates, artists, athletes, and entrepreneurs have shown true moral courage and heroism, and are determined to break the walls erected to limit how far they can go and what they can accomplish. The motto "Opre Roma!" (Stand Up, Roma!) has become a symbol of self-reliance and transnational unity. While the Roma community is their own biggest hope, the EU and governments must act to lift the underprivileged and under-represented.
