UN-backed investigation reveals EU's involvement in Libyan crimes against humanity.

UN investigators have found evidence of crimes against humanity being committed against Libyans and migrants in Libya, including sexual slavery. The European Union has been faulted for supporting Libyan forces that contributed to these crimes. The investigators collected at least 2,800 items of information documenting numerous cases of arbitrary detention, murder, torture, rape, enslavement, sexual slavery, extrajudicial killings, and enforced disappearances that confirmed their widespread practice in Libya. The Libyan coastguard, which has been supported by the EU, was specifically cited for violating human rights.
