Ecuadorians find easier path to US migration.

The number of Ecuadorians detained near the US-Mexico border has spiked as many flee the country's struggling economy, rising crime, and instability. Unlike migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, Ecuadorians and some other nationalities are generally allowed to stay in the US while they pursue asylum. The relative ease of current migration is fueling an increase in families migrating to the New York area. The Biden administration wants to send all migrants back to Mexico if they travel through that country to reach the US border, which may deter Ecuadorians and other non-Mexicans.
