"The Beast: Mexico's Freight Train Migration Crisis"

Mexican authorities have launched a major enforcement effort to block migrants from hitching a ride on freight trains, known as "The Beast," to the U.S. border. The crackdown comes after reports of serious injuries and deaths caused by migrants attempting to board the trains. The Mexican railway company Ferromex temporarily suspended 60 trains in the northern part of the country, and the National Migration Institute (INM) has deployed agents to dissuade people from climbing aboard. Despite the U.S.'s message of "Do not come," migrants continue to make the dangerous journey in large numbers, overwhelming both Mexican and U.S. border officials.
