Enderson Amaya Blanco, a Venezuelan father, risked his life to trek through dangerous terrain to reach the US in hopes of providing for his children. He turned himself in to border authorities just before the expiration of Title 42, a Trump-era policy that allowed for the quick expulsion of migrants at US land borders. Blanco spent four days in an El Paso detention center with 433 other men, waiting to find out if he would be deported or allowed to pursue the American dream. He was eventually granted a permit to travel and hopes to reach Denver and then Chicago.
