Two sisters, aged 15 and 8, who were abducted by Hamas after their father was murdered, have been reunited with their mother after 51 days of captivity. The sisters were among the 17 hostages released by Hamas, including a young Israeli-American orphan. Thirteen Israelis, two Thai nationals, and a Russian national have now been freed. The release is part of a deal between Hamas and Israel, brokered by Qatar, which will see around 50 women and children held by Hamas released in exchange for a brief ceasefire. Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has expressed commitment to returning all hostages held by Hamas.
