Global Businesses Rally for Ceasefire in Gaza: Calls for an End to Violence

Scores of small businesses in the Chicago area closed their doors and dozens rallied in Bridgeview to show solidarity with Gaza and call for an immediate cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war. At least 200 businesses, along with eight private schools, participated in the strike organized by Palestinian activists and organizations. The Chicago Coalition for Justice in Palestine held a rally in support of the strike, condemning the U.S. veto of a United Nations Security Council resolution for a cease-fire. Many businesses in the area are Palestinian and Arab-owned, and their closure aimed to raise awareness and support for the people of Gaza.
