IAEA Chief Visits Ukraine Nuclear Plant Amid Safety and Security Concerns

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, visited the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine to assess the nuclear safety and security situation and broker a deal to protect the plant. The sprawling plant, which accounted for around 20% of national power generation before the Russian invasion, has not produced any electricity since September. Grossi is pushing for a safety agreement between Ukraine and Russia to protect the facility, which has been shelled by both sides over the last year.
