Rosatom chief blames Ukraine for deadly strikes on Zaporizhzhia fuel trucks
Alexei Likhachev, head of Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom, accused Ukraine of attacking diesel fuel trucks near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant on Friday. The strikes killed two Russian servicemen and injured others, threatening the safety of Europe's largest nuclear facility. Diesel is critical for cooling reactors when external power links fail, a situation that persisted for weeks in late summer. The plant, seized by Russia in 2022, currently generates no electricity, while the IAEA maintains an observer presence.
