Kenya Takes Charge: Leading Multinational Force to Haiti

Kenya has expressed readiness to lead a multinational force into Haiti to address the escalating violence between police and gangs. The surge in violence has led to a humanitarian crisis, displacing tens of thousands of people. Kenya plans to deploy a contingent of 1,000 police officers to assist and train the Haitian police in restoring normalcy and protecting strategic installations. The deployment is subject to obtaining a U.N. Security Council mandate and Kenyan authorizations.
