Qatar Sentences 8 Indian Navy Veterans to Death, India Seeks Legal Options

Eight former Indian Navy officers, who were working for a private firm assisting the Qatari armed forces, have been sentenced to death in Qatar on charges of spying for Israel. The men, including decorated officers who once commanded Indian warships, were accused of spying on a secret naval project involving advanced submarines being built in collaboration with an Italian shipbuilding firm. The Ministry of External Affairs expressed shock at the verdict and stated that they would take up the issue with Qatari authorities, while also exploring all legal options.
