Russian Submarine Commander Assassinated During Morning Run

Russian submarine commander Stanislav Rzhitsky was shot dead by a gunman while on a morning run in Krasnodar. Rzhitsky was also the commander of a Russian Black Sea Fleet submarine that was accused of launching a missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia in July 2022, resulting in the deaths of 23 civilians. The attack was condemned by the UN and EU, who called for accountability.
