"IDF Retrieves Body of Israeli Hostage in Overnight Operation in Gaza"

The body of Israeli hostage Elad Katzir, who was kidnapped on Oct. 7, has been retrieved from the Gaza Strip and returned to Israel. The IDF conducted an operation to excavate his body from an underground compound in Khan Yunes, and it was brought to Israel for identification. Katzir's mother, who was also a hostage, was released in November 2023. The IDF and ISA claim that Katzir was murdered in captivity, likely in January, and Hamas and Islamic Jihad are suspected of being responsible. The IDF is continuing efforts to retrieve the remaining 133 hostages held by terrorist groups in Gaza.
