Biden administration sanctions Chinese and Russian firms for national security risks

The Biden administration has imposed trade restrictions on 11 Chinese and five Russian companies, accusing them of compromising national security. The U.S. alleges that these companies were involved in supplying drone components to a blacklisted Russian entity, violating U.S. export curbs. The additions to the U.S. Entity List include eight Chinese entities procuring or attempting to procure U.S. drone equipment for Iran, and two Omani entities supporting Houthi fighters in Yemen. The move is part of Washington's efforts to curb Chinese technology and penalize involvement in Russia's war machinery. China has criticized the U.S. for abusing unilateral sanctions and hindering normal international trade exchanges, vowing to take necessary measures to safeguard its rights and interests.
