China's Diplomatic Moves Under Scrutiny.

China, which has been a beneficiary of Russia's war against Ukraine, may opt to throw Russia a lifeline beyond economic and moral support and supply its partner with lethal military aid to prevent a Russian defeat, prolong the war, or speed some kind of Russian victory. Such a move could turn the conflict in Ukraine into a truly global one and inaugurate a far more adversarial relationship between China and the West. However, the United States and Europe should remind China that its participation in the war will not decrease Western support for Ukraine, and any military support for Russia will incur a severe and united response from Europe.
