Erdogan embarks on Gulf tour to attract investment for Turkey's economy

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Saudi Arabia to kick off a three-state Gulf tour aimed at attracting foreign investment to boost Turkey's struggling economy. Erdogan will meet with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman before heading to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. The visit marks a further improvement in relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia following the strained ties caused by the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Erdogan's Gulf tour comes as Turkey battles a currency collapse and soaring inflation, and seeks to increase exports to alleviate economic problems.
