Foreign Ministers of Russia, China, Iran, and Taliban discuss Afghanistan's future.

The foreign ministers of Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan attended a conference in Uzbekistan to discuss regional security and cooperation with Afghan authorities to prevent a humanitarian crisis. Russia and China have kept their diplomatic missions in Kabul since the Taliban took power in August. Beijing expressed hope that Afghanistan's interim government would protect the basic rights and interests of all Afghan people, including women, children, and all ethnic groups. No country has recognized the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.
